Fanart of the game Amnesia - The dark decent by frictional games.
Asdklkjhg this game is so scary. So FUCKING SCARY. I didn't even play it, I watched a walkthrough on youtube, but it still was enough to ruin my sleep for a week. Heck, even drawing this was painful since I had too look up references and got scared AGAIN. But still, I can't stop thinking of that bloody game. It's a darn good game. God, I must be an masochist or something.
I'm pretty happy with this drawing Even if it was painful it was also very fun to draw. I usually hate horror but apparently I enjoy drawing it, haha.
I took some artistic liberties, the wheel isn't that big in the game~ The walkthrough of the game (with awesome commentary): [link] The speficic part of the game I was trying to portray up there: [link] Some funny dude freaking out while playing the game: [link]
First let me say that I think this is absolutely amazing! The colors and the darkness give it that dreary emotion, while the blurring around the edges to focas in the lighting and the picture on Daniel makes me feel the desperation and movement. His eyes and his expression convey the fear as he's trying to get the gate up in time, I know that it's absolutely terrifying and he seems to agree! Overall I really like this, although I feel that his nose could have been slightly better shaped, because to me it looks a bit strange. But I have to say the lighting looks like it's genuinely straight from the game, how you made it that perfect I have no idea, but you did it right!
On one more note I want to say that this sufficiently scared me! And that, is a fantastic thing! Thank you for making such a wonderful piece of art, I love it!
ok first of all congratulation your art force me to write my first critique ever second: i really adore how you made Daniel here i mean just look at him, so full of life i can almost feel how he quickly move to get out from this room. third: my my atmosphere is do gloomy and dark just like it should be ya made marvelous contrast between dark and light places. Shading is perfect in my opinion. you got talent in this and colors: i really don't know how you do tat but they look almost like those in the game you choose right colors.
To conclude: This art is full of life, colors and shading are good and atmosphere mmmmmm wonderful good job
Omg. When I played the demo with my friend this part just shot adrenaline through my whole body. With a water monster quickly splashing towards you while your trying to raise an extreamly slow gate is horrifying even though it's just a game. The suspense kills you.
That part was SO much fun! xD Well, at first I got stuck there for being ultra nervous and afraid of getting Danny killed, but when I managed to let go of that fear and enjoy it, since you don't lose any progress what so ever, I actually finished the WHOLE water part with just one death cause I ran out of bites (moving boxes was NOT for me, the little freak took them away while following me). Haha, I can't blame you for being scared, Amnesia gives me heart-attacks! (and that part... so much fun but I finished with my heart reaching 5000 pulses a minute approximately). Still, you should play it some time, wanna see more fanart from you!
good job. I played that part, I was turning the damn wheel as fast as i could so to get the hell out of that level XDDD I find the waterlurked more annoy than scary ¬¬
